A Clear Assessment of Present Condition and Future Outlook
Condition and prognosis reports provide a comprehensive assessment of the claimant’s current neurological condition, present symptoms, functional difficulties and likely future outcome.
The instructed consultant neurologist reviews the relevant medical records, treatment history, investigation results and clinical evidence. Where an examination is required, the expert also considers the claimant’s reported symptoms, neurological findings and the effect of the condition on daily activities.
Prognosis is considered in the context of the diagnosis, duration and progression of symptoms, response to treatment, pre-existing health, relevant risk factors and the recognised course of the neurological condition.
Where appropriate, the report may address whether symptoms are likely to improve, remain stable, fluctuate or deteriorate, together with any future treatment, rehabilitation, investigation or specialist review that may reasonably be required.
Conclusions are expressed within the expert’s neurological expertise. Any material limitations, uncertainties or factors capable of affecting the prognosis are identified clearly.
